Dan Schneider’s “Henry Danger,” follows Henry Hart, your average teenager, whose after school job is playing secret sidekick to his town’s superhero. The show is set in the fictional town of Swellview, and its amazing sets, though actually in Hollywood, are swell to say the least.
Captain Man, Kid Danger and the gang owe their colorful scenery to set designer Harry Matheu and his amazing team, who have designed sets for Dan Schneider creations including iCarly, Victorious, Sam & Cat, and Game Shakers. As always, there is more to these sets than meets the eye.
Let’s take a look at three glorious sets from “Henry Danger,” and some of the best details you might have missed at first glance!
The Man Cave
Captain Man’s lair is a wonder to behold, complete with buttons galore and a surveillance system that lets the hero watch out for folks in need. In a set tour, actor Jace Norman, who plays Henry, shows us a few cool things.
For starters, see that wall? On the show, it’s an automatic door. Behind-the-scenes, the special effects department have controls that open it for the actors. We could all use a personal special effects department, but unfortunately we don’t all work in Hollywood.
Secondly, see that mysterious item with the pipes and blue and pink glow? Not even Jace knows what it is, but it’s also appeared on another Dan Schneider show. Let us know if you can figure out which!
Junk N Stuff
This shop is a front for Captain Man’s lair, and it’s filled to the brim with amazing oddities. Actor Jace Norman says his favorite objects are the Thor hammer and scary, real looking head, which unfortunately, can’t be seen in this image.
There are dinosaurs, aliens, neon signs, bones, and much much more on set. Something that sticks out? That double cheeseburger! Whether or not this is meant to be a reference to Dan Schneider’s Good Burger, we can’t say. Someone should head over to the “Game Shakers” set and ask Kel Mitchell.
Henry’s Colorful Home
Henry’s house is the kind every kid, and probably many adults, want to live in. Just look at all of those vibrant colors! The poppy red chairs, the blue diner-style stools, the cozy purple sofa chair… mmmm! It’s fun, cozy and chic all rolled into one.
That piece of art above the fireplace? Jace joked that it’s a family portrait of Henry and his sassy sister, Piper, but can anyone prove it isn’t?
Lastly, take a look out the door. It seems like the Hart family living room leads right to the great outdoors, but as Jace shows us in the behind the scenes video, if you walk out the door and to the right you won’t be on the streets of Swellview. You’ll be back where we started: on the set of Captain Man’s Man Cave!
