“Game Shakers,” a show about an awesome gaming company run by teenagers, boasts the same kind of funky flair we’ve seen on the sets of “iCarly” and “Sam & Cat.” These colorful, highly detailed sets have become the trademark of Dan Schneider-created shows, thanks to the creative mind of Art Director Harry Matheu and his incredible team.
Let’s take a closer look at the world of “Game Shakers”!
The Donut Pit
The most impressive set on “Game Shakers” is definitely the kids’ enormous game workshop. Cuz first off, it has a donut pit.
Nickelodeon has an interactive set tour that lets you explore the workshop’s finer points, like its trampoline, crazy word wall, fully-stocked kitchen, and very elegant stuffed monkey on a toilet. Those cozy donuts, though. Mmmmm.
As Kenzie says, “Donut bother us as we’re napping.” Can’t argue with that — if you want a good game, the developers need their rest!
On-Point Reproduction of NYC’s Subway
The reproduction of NYC’s subway cars and stops is so on-point, you’d almost think it was shot there. From the subway ads to the “courtesy counts” campaign, aged platforms and city maps, it’s incredible how well the set designers capture NYC’s underground.
Fun fact: The set designers actually work with the MTA to get all of the elements just right. This teamwork totally paid off. Take a look for yourself!
And this shot is even more impressive, from the peeling paint to the yellow lines:
It just goes to show that the magic of sets is not just in what can be imaginatively created, but what can be expertly recreated.
Double G’s furry, fancy office
Double G’s office is exactly what we’d hope for a crazy-famous hip hop artist. The signature Double G logo is emblazoned in gold wherever you turn, while the furniture is adorned with fancy faux furs of all types. And that throne! Wow.
We’re also loving the New York City skyline in the background. It adds some real Manhattan flavor to a set that’s already just about as flavorful as they come!
